If there’s one place that truly captures my heart every time I visit, it’s Hawaii. Each island has its own personality, and there’s always something new to explore—whether it’s soaking up the sun, diving into adventure, or simply slowing down and embracing the aloha spirit.
I’ve been lucky enough to experience Hawaii in a variety of ways, and I want to share a few of my favorite spots and activities that might just inspire your next island escape.
🌺 Oʻahu: Beaches, History & Surf Vibes

Oʻahu is full of iconic sights, laid-back beaches, and rich culture. It’s a great island for first timers and return visitors alike.
- Ko’Olina: I absolutely love this tranquil resort area. The calm lagoons are perfect for swimming and the sunsets here are unforgettable.
- Pearl Harbor: A moving and powerful experience—visiting the USS Arizona Memorial gives deep meaning and context to Hawaii’s past.
- North Shore: Known for its massive winter waves and world-famous surf spots, it’s also home to chill vibes, cute towns, and the best garlic shrimp food trucks!
- Dole Plantation: A fun stop for all ages—ride the Pineapple Express train, explore the gardens, and enjoy a refreshing Dole Whip in the sunshine.
🌴 Kauai: Nature, Adventure & Small-Town Charm

Kauai is pure magic. It’s lush, peaceful, and packed with natural beauty
- Kapaʻa Town: A favorite of mine—this cozy coastal town is full of character, with great local shops, fresh food, and a lovely bike path along the ocean.
- Tubing Adventure: Yes, tubing! You can float through old plantation irrigation canals surrounded by tropical forest. It’s quirky, relaxing, and seriously fun.
- Kayaking: Paddle along the Wailua River or venture into sea caves along the Nā Pali Coast. It’s one of the best ways to take in Kauaʻi’s stunning scenery.
🌋 The Big Island: Volcanos & Ocean Thrills

If you want to feel connected to the raw power of nature, the Big Island is where it’s at
- Hawaii Volcanoes National Park: Walk through lava tubes, explore craters, and if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of glowing lava—it’s incredible.
- Snorkeling with Manta Rays: One of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. At night, manta rays glide through the water beneath you—it’s pure magic.
- Black Sand Beaches: Punaluʻu Beach is a great stop to see sea turtles up close and stroll along striking black sands.
🌺 Hawaiian Culture & Luaus
One of the best ways to experience Hawaiian culture is through a traditional luau. Between the hula dancing, live music, storytelling, and delicious food, it’s an evening you won’t forget. There’s something incredibly special about watching the sun set while enjoying a plate of kalua pork and lomi lomi salmon!

🍍 Food Truck Heaven
If you love to eat (who doesn’t?), Hawaii’s food truck scene is a total dream. From fresh poke and garlic shrimp to pineapple smoothies and malasadas, some of the best meals are served from a truck parked near the beach. I make it a mission to try a new one each day when I’m there!
